DIY painted pillow!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!!
Before I share my craft for the day (sorry for the wrinkly pillow photo)…I want to give you a pregnancy update. I’m 2 days away from my due date (eeeek), currently 1 cm dilated and experiencing some back pain (eeek again). These are all great signs that labour is near but to tell you the truth she is way too comfortable in there! I think she is enjoying the donut cravings I’ve been having lately??!
I’ve never felt so anxious in my life…the fact that labour could start at any time just puts me on the edge! Every little twinge I feel I’m like, ” THIS COULD BE IT!” But then it goes away :( My friends and family have been anxiously waiting as well and I’m receiving lots of emails, texts and calls from them asking if little Penny has arrived yet. I feel like I’m constantly disappointing them by saying she’s still in there hahha! My mom even said last night, ” Why don’t you just get induced already, I have to live my life!” What the heck??! I’m not even due yet??! Thanks mom.
She will come out when she’s ready :) If she’s anything like me she’ll probably come out just an hour before her due date, early and on time! Let’s cross our fingers that it might happen tomorrow night!!!!!
Anyways….I will get to the craft now hahah! A week ago I was about to go and buy some more ikea pillows and I had to hit myself in the head because you can make pillows so easily….for a fraction of the price!!! Don’t get me wrong…it’s nice to just buy them sometimes but making your own and personalizing it with some fabric paint is really nice too!!!
I’m not really showing you how to make the pillow case today.. but just showing you how vamp up a plain black pillow case!

First pick a pattern you like..I browsed pinterest but didn’t find anything that I wanted so I just made up this pattern ;)

Just hand paint the pattern on both ends with white fabric paint and there you go! A pretty new pillow to add to your comfy couch!
Paint something today!!!

DIY Cloud Mobile
Today I’m going to show you how to make the cutest baby cloud and raindrop mobile!

I’ve been seeing a lot of stuffed felt clouds and raindrops lately on instagram and pinterest….but I had never seen an actual mobile. I was actually going to buy some online and turn it into a mobile…which is sooo soo silly because you can make your own so easily!!!
This DIY project will make your baby room look so damn cute!!
What you need:
* Patterned scrap material - I didn’t want to just go for solid colours so I chose to use the scrap materials I got from Spoonflower.
* scissors & hook for ceiling
* white thread, sewing machine and needle
* embroidery ring painted white
* stuffing
Step 1: I drew out the clouds and raindrops on the fabric with pencil then cut, no stencil needed :) Cut three clouds and 3 raindrops for each cloud!

Step 2: I sewed the edges roughly with a sewing machine because I like the messy look but if you want more of a clean look you can sew the right sides together and then turn it inside out :)

Step 3: Leave a small hole for you to stuff! Use a pencil to push it in.

Step 4: Hand stitch the opening closed.

Step 5: Now to sew and stuff the raindrops….this can be tricky because they are so darn small. I just hand stitched all of them and left an opening at the top to stuff them….just a tiny bit of stuffing is needed for this.

Step 6: Sew the top of raindrop to the bottom of the cloud with the white thread you have and knot it so it’s secure. Now continue doing this and place the raindrops at different lengths on each cloud.

Step 7: Now use your white thread to sew through the top of the cloud and tie to the embroidery ring. Place each cloud at a different length.

Step 8: Take some thick thread and tie the mobile at four points on the embroidery ring to be able to hang it from the hook that you screwed into the ceiling. Now you are DONE!!!!

I hope little Penny likes it! She will be arriving very soon and I just can’t wait!! All her little friends in her crib are anxiously waiting to meet her too!
Hope you enjoyed this fun DIY!
Have a wonderful day :)

DIY party napkins!
So I was breezing through pinterest to get some new party ideas for a friends birthday and I saw the cutest napkins that had EAT stencilled on the bottom and I wanted to recreate them! But instead used black ink and stamps to put EAT at the bottom and I think they turned out really well!!

There is something so beautiful about just having a nice simple place setting….and a little bitty feather will help with that!

These were so inexpensive to make, I got the plain fabric from ikea…$2.99/meter and then you just stamp away! You can easily personalize it any way you want too!
Dinner party coming up??? Why not try this fun DIY??!!! Supah fun!
Have a great weekend!

Latest project finished! I’m going for a new look in my living room…actually my whole house…and little changes can make a big difference in a space!
I had this old ottoman that I thrifted a long time ago and it had vintage ship material on it and I just simply covered over it with new fabric and painted the legs white! It only took me 2 hours :) I got the fabric from Spoonflower online..they have a ton of cute fabrics!! Go take a look!
If you are crazy like me and want to redecorate your whole house…Instead of buying new furniture and spending a fortune maybe find out how you can give your existing furniture a facelift?!
The best part of changing this ottoman is that I kept the old fabric on underneath so I can take off layers and change it up anytime I want!
Find something to recover in your home this weekend :)

Nesting- Organizing your spices
I never believed women when they said they were nesting during their pregnancy. I thought they just went a little crazy from the hormones…but now that I’m pregnant..I totally believe them and I’ve taken nesting to a whole new level!
I’ve reorganized and de-cluttlered almost every room in my house so far. I can’t believe how much junk I hold on to! I might regret throwing everything out later but for now it feels like a big breath of fresh air!
I’m also hating the rustic decor I have currently in my house and I want to redecorate so bad!!! I find myself liking a lot of nice clean white modern looking furniture these days with black accents and little bits of colour thrown in :) I’m going to try and work this into the baby room!
Since I’ve gone a little mad organizing everything in my house I decided to share a cute organization tip and DIY for your spices!
Does anyone else have a cupboard full of spices looking like the one picture below? It all starts to collect and it looks really ugly with all the different packaging!

After looking at my hideous spice cupboard I decided to go to Ikea to get something to organize them. I got 3 sets of 4 clear spice jars for only $6.00 each :)

Now since I don’t cook that much I need to label all my spices very well so I know what I’m throwing into my dinner :) To label them I used a white poster sharpie marker.

I filled up all the jars and labeled them!

Now my spice cupboard looks like this……

Now I need to start cooking more since all my spices are nicely organized! This is a simple fun project for you to do this weekend!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

DIY Screen printed onesies!!
Hi everyone!
I had an amazing time learning how to screen print with my little sister Elena the other night and today we show you how to make your own!
First of all screen printing is probably the best thing ever…now I want to screen print everything!! I’ve had the same screen printing supplies lying in my craft room for the last year and have never attempted to try it out because I thought it would be too difficult! Guess what….it’s totally not difficult at all!! So much fun!!

These pictures are very straight forward so I won’t go into any detail but I will definitely go over the important steps!
Step one: make a stencil from some thick paper….cut with sharp box cutter…be careful!!

Step 2: Cut piece of cardboard to put in the sleeper so you have a nice flat surface.

Step 3: Tape your stencil down in the center of the shirt.

Step 4: Add a small amount of fabric paint to the top of the screen….just enough across to clear the image you have made on your stencil.

Step 5: We missed taking a pic of this part but you have to use the squeegee like tool to push the paint down….push down firmly in order to get a good clear print.

Step 6: THE REVEAL!!!! It’s the best part of screen printing! It’s so nice to see what you’ve made at the end :)

My little sis Elena made this one below…it’s one of my favourites!

My little girl on the way will be very stylish in these new onesies!!! A special thanks to Lenny for all her creative talents that night…I had so much fun with you ;)
Hope you enjoyed this post…now I suggest you go out and buy yourself a screen printer now…..I’m so so serious…it’s amazing!!
