Here’s a fun DIY to make for a friend as a house warming gift! I made this one for my lovely friend Kim! We went up to Whistler the other weekend to visit and to see her new house and it’s totes amaze ;)
What you need to make this fun gift:
* embroidery ring…any size you like!
* embroidery thread
*embroidery needle
* chalk
* scissors
First cut fabric about 2 inches wider than the embroidery ring and now stretch the fabric on the ring.
Now write whatever message you want with chalk on the fabric and use this as a guide for when you stitch the letters! If you make a mistake you can always get a wet cloth and clean it off ;)
Thread your needle and knot the end…
Now start stitching beginning at the back…going to the front and making about a 1/4 inch length stitch! It’s totally up to you what kind of stitch you do…I recommend looking on the Martha Stewart site for different stitching patterns!
This took me about 1 hour to stitch!
Luna gets special privileges in the craft room..I usually don’t let her up on the furniture…but she was just so cute I had to let her cuddle!!
Knot the end and you’re done!!!
This is a very simple gift and very thoughtful and your friend will love it!! Kim did!! I’m going to try something else with the same idea…maybe use some printed fabric next time!???
